R. Stephen Doan served as Jurisdiction Master Councilor of the Jurisdiction of Southern California in 1970 – 1971. He holds the PMC-MSA and the PIKC-MSA. He is an Active Member of the DeMolay Supreme Council and a Past Dean of the Southern California Preceptory of the Legion of Honor. He served as Grand Master of Masons in California in 1992 – 1993. He served as Grand Sovereign of the Red Cross of Constantine for the United States of America, Mexico and the Philippines and is its current Grand Recorder. He is also currently the President and a Fellow of the Philalethes Society, the oldest independent Masonic research society in North America, and a frequent speaker on Masonic topics. In the community, Steve has been Chairman of the Board of the Midnight Mission in Los Angeles for more than twenty-five years and the President of the Youth Fund of Southern California since 1988. He is an active communicant of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes. He has received the Boys’ Club of America Medallion Award for his service to that organization. Steve received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1971, graduating summa cum laude, with highest department honors. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1974. He practices law in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, specializing in business and real estate planning, tax and estate planning and trusts. He was formerly a senior partner of Morrison & Foerster, LLP, an international law firm.
