Born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and relocated with his parents to Southern California. Raymond is a Senior DeMolay of Huntington Park Chapter in Huntington Park, California

He is married to Elaine Davies, a Past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters, a Past Grand Guardian of California, and currently the Supreme Fourth Messenger of the Supreme Guardian Council Job’s Daughters International. Their Children and Grandchildren include Gail Zacher a Past Honored Queen and Deputy Grand Guardian; Raymond Davies, a retired Air Force Master Sergeant; Debra, a Past Honored Queen and Past Grand Guardian of Washington,  Jonathon, a Chevalier Senior DeMolay; Grandson Josef Zacher, a Chevalier Senior DeMolay, Grandson Dylan Morse, a Chevalier Senior DeMolay; Granddaughter Marianna Farnsworth, a Past Honored Queen; and Desirae Morse, a Past Honored Queen. The Great Grandchildren range from age twelve to age six months.

Dad Davies education includes Formal Apprenticeship as a Tool and Diemaker – Special Machines Builder; degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management; certification as a Federal Contracts Specialist; Computer Cross Platform Networking Adminstrator; and as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. He holds the designation of “Senior Member” Computer and Automated Systems of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Dad Davies is retired from Manufacturing Engineering, Business Operations Manager, and Computer Systems Manager.

Dad Davies currently devotes his services as an Ordained Minister.

Dad D is a Past Master of two Lodges – Downey United No. 220 in Downey, California where he has received the Hiram Award and Golden Veterans Award; and Garden Grove No. 351 in Garden Grove, California, where he has served a Lodge Secretary and currently is Chaplain. He is also a member of North Hill No, 210 in Washington.

Dad D has served the Grand Lodge of California Masons as a Youth Orders Committee Member for several lengthy periods; as Inspector of the 366th Masonic District for eight years; and as Grand Chaplain in 2003-2004; and has received the Grand Masters Youth Support Award.

Dad D is a Life Member of Triple Tau Chapter, Shekinah Chapter, and Golden West Commandry York Rite Bodies, Bellflower, CA; a Past Commander currently serving as Prelate of Golden West Commandery and as Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of California.

He is a member Scottish Rite in Long Beach;  El Bekal Temple of the Shrine;  Scepter Chapter. Order of the Eastern Star; is a Past Worthy Patron 1988 and 1992 in Garden Grove and has received the Rose Award; Royal Order of Scotland; and the Red Cross of Constantine – Inland Empire Chapter.

Dad D has devoted the majority of his adult life to mentoring youth. He has been a Sunday School teacher; a Cub Scouts Den Master; a Boy Scouts Scout Master; a youth athletics league coach for baseball and basketball; and occasionally on special assignments for California Rainbow.

Dad D has been on the Bethel Council of Bethel 173 in South Gate, the Parents Club of Bethel 44 in Huntington Park; served for more than a decade as Associate Bethel Guardian of Bethel 290 in Garden Grove; served California Job’s Grand Guardian Council as Grand Chaplain in 2001; served for many years as the bookkeeper of the California Job’s Daughters Foundation and then as its President for five years. He is currently a Trustee and Parliamentarian of that Foundation.

Dad D has been an active DeMolay Advisor since at least 1973 where he served as the registered Athletics Advisor for Guardian Chapter in South Gate; a short time as an at large Advisor for Huntington Park Chapter; and Advisor for Garden Grove Chapter since 1978, serving in several capacities including Scribe Advisor, Dad Advisor and Chairman; served as League Administrator for Orange League; and has served the Jurisdiction as Certified Ritual Judge, Priory Dad Advisor and Chairman, Liason to Grand Lodge, Chapter Development Advisor, Executive Director, and Assistant Executive Officer; and has served DeMolay International as a member of the Honors and Awards Committee, the Appeals and Grievance Committee, is a member of the Alumnae association, and continues to serve as an Emeritus Member of the International Supreme Council.    

For his efforts in DeMolay, Dad D has earned the Lamp of Knowledge, Representative DeMolay, and Advisor Honor Key, and has been awarded the designations of Chevalier, Cross of Honor, Legion of Honor, and Guild of the Leather Apron.
